World Liver Day 2026 in Torino

For the World Liver Day 2026, the Department of Medical Sciences of the University of Turin, Italy, has organized a screening day for the evaluation of liver fibrosis. The event was promoted by Dr. Angelo Armandi and took place on 21th April 2026 at the entrance yard of Molinette University Hospital. During the day, over 200 patients underwent free evaluation of liver fibrosis through transient elastography (Fibroscan). The screening exam was primarily addressed to individuals with risk factors for liver disease, including excessive alcohol intake, obesity, type 2 diabetes, and altered liver function test. All patients were offered infographics and counseling for prevention of liver disease, and promotion of liver and metabolic health. Individuals with evidence of significant liver fibrosis were advised for hepatological consultation at the Outpatient Clinic of Metabolic Liver Disease of the University Hospital “Città della Salute e della Scienza di Torino”.
