The University of Barcelona – Faculty of Nursing (UB)
The University of Barcelona (UB) was founded in 1450 in the center of Barcelona. Today it is leader university in Spain with more than 70.000 students, 6.500 teaching staff and researchers, all supported by over 2.000 administrative staff. The University is divided into 17 faculties with various campuses across the metropolitan area of Barcelona.
In 1977 the UB School of Nursing was founded and it was incorporated into the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences in 2016. In 2023, the School of Nursing’s converted into Faculty of Nursing. Nowadays, it currently runs both graduate, masters’ courses and Doctoral program.
UB is involved in activities of WP5 and WP7.
TEAM MEMBERS
Dr. Nuria Fabrellas
Full professor of Nursing. She leads the team of nurses who are part of the research group at FRCB IDIBAPS into Chronic Liver Diseases. Her role within the project is to lead the training and education of nurses within the project. She will coordinate the task 5.3 from WP5 also she will be involved in dissemination and communication activities of WP5 and WP7
Dr. Marta Carol
Associate Professor of Nursing. She is an Expert Nurse in Liver Diseases, is part of the research team into Chronic Liver Diseases, specializing in the biobanking and sample handling. Alongside Nuria Fabrellas, she will be involved in the training and education of nurses. The training courses will be for expert nurses and non-expert nurses.
Dr. Eva Guix
Professor at the Faculty of Nursing of the UB. Expert on the therapeutic adherence of patients and the implementation of interventions by the advanced practice nurse. She is an expert in research methodology. He is an experienced person in the planning of research projects and their dissemination.
Dr. Raül Sancho
Professor of Nursing. Expert in qualitative research and communication. He will be the spokesperson for the patient association, also he will participate in dissemination and communication. As a primary care nurse and university professor, he is very focus on knowledge transmission, not only to the students but also as educator’s community.
Dr. Mars Coll
Her research efforts over the years have been concentrated in finding new therapeutic strategies for the treatment of chronic liver diseases. She completed my PhD in Vall d’Hebron Research Institute (VHIR). To further increase her understanding of the molecular basis of liver diseases, in 2011 she moved to IDIBAPS to Liver cell plasticity and tissue repair group led by Pau Sancho-Bru. In 2016 she started to take part of CIBERehd as a senior post-doctoral researcher in the group of Dr. Pere Ginès. In January 2021, she was awarded with the Ramon y Cajal Program, a prestigious individual fellowship to support starting PIs. Since then, she is a Junior Researcher at the Medicine department of the University of Barcelona.
